Well, it's back to real life. Well, not quite yet. Andy and I had a wonderful time traveling all around the country to Nevada, then Florida, then Idaho. We're sad that our vacation is almost over, but happy to be back in Rexburg and getting into the groove of normal life as a new married couple. Today we had our first day of church not only as a married couple, but in our new ward! In the complex we live in, we get the choice of either going to the married student ward or a local family ward. After talking it over, we've decided to go to the family ward and we couldn't be happier with our decision! Although the noisy sacrament meetings will be something to get used to, we LOVE the friendly and "more normal" atmosphere of going to a family ward. SUCCESS!!
Along with all of our wonderful gifts from the Iowa reception, we brought back a little something extra with us to Rexburg. Meet Jack!
We were originally planning on bringing Andy's dog Charlie back to Idaho with us, but didn't feel quite right about taking him away from his home in Iowa. So, we found Jack. He's a 1 year old Australian Kelpie that we adopted from the Nebraska Humane Society. Cute, right? He has quite the personality. But don't let that face fool you, he has a mischievous side!
Thankfully he came potty trained, but he ALWAYS has to in whatever room we are and right by our side, which can make things difficult at times, especially when we have to leave him at home. We're currently working on kennel training him (because he really likes to get into things that aren't his sometimes) and he's fine as long as we're in the same room or he knows we're in the apartment somewhere. But as soon as we leave, he has a meltdown.
Jack is soooo funny! We were worried about taking him on an 18 hour car ride, but he did so well!

Today we took Jack to the tennis courts to play, because he gets a little too distracted and runs off if he isn't in a concealed area. He loves to just run around, and doesn't really give into the whole "fetch" thing. Australian Kelpies are bread to be hearding dogs, and you can tell when you watch Jack. We'll through tennis balls, or run around and he'll just chase us (or the ball) until he's caught up to it and then he'll be done with it.

If you can't tell, his head is down but his but is up. We have actually witnessed him do a full summersalt.

Well among the hustle and bustle of getting settled in, I've finished our guest book! For those who didn't get to attend either receptions, I wanted our wedding guest book to be different and unique. I had a tree printed and made leaves out of paper that people signed at the receptions. Then, I would paste them onto the tree and us it as wall art for our home. Here's the finished product!

My parents are coming up this weekend to bring us our Nevada stuff. I'm really excited to see them, and it motivates me even more to get our home looking great (even though Andy has pretty much already done that). Exciting things coming up!
