Our Yellowstone Adventure

Well this week has been slightly uneventful.  On Tuesday it was our one month anniversary! We celebrated by driving to Idaho Falls! We went out to dinner at Olive Garden (thanks to my wonderful brother and sister Amanda and Michael) and shopped around at target.  It seems as though we can't escape a store anymore without buying something for the dog. He's so spoiled.
On Monday we were walking home from work and passed by the apple orchards. I LOVE the apple orchards, hence why took some engagements there. Now that the apples are growing pretty big, anyone can walk through and pick some, as long as you pay for them of course.  It was a nice little pit stop on the way home! And delicious!

We were trying to find something fun to do yesterday, just because we weren't about to sit around the house on one of the few sunny Saturdays we had left! We wanted to go to Yellowstone National Park, but it's like $25.00 to get in. Yikes! Little did we know, it was free national park entrance day! Go figure! So Andy, Jack, and I hopped in the car and made the 90 minute drive to the beautiful back country! I love living so close to wonderful places like this, one of the many perks of Idaho! I'll miss being able to go on weekend trips to Yellowstone all of the time.
Jack wasn't aloud to be farther than 100 ft. off the pavement, so he stayed in the car for big parts of the day. But, as we say, the car is better than the kennel!
And, we each took a turn driving. Which is surprising, because Andy says I'm a crazy driver.

We literally saw bison fighting....or playing? Their tales were wagging, does that mean anything? Jack went CRAZY when he saw them, I don't think he's ever seen bison before.
Andy wanted to take a pit stop on our way our of Yellowstone at the river, to see if it was warm from all of the geysers and hot springs.  It was fun! Jack really does like water, but when we tried to get him into the Snake River (which is FREEZING) he refused.  He warmed up to this one a little faster.

When his feet splash, he always tries to eat it. He's not bright, but we love him anyway!

Our apartment is right in front of the designated pet area, which is really nice but not so great at the same time.  If Jack can hear one of his friends outside playing, he freaks out! He peers out the window like a little boy and just wines ENDLESSLY! We haven't ever been able to keep him off the window sill, because he looks just so cute when he does it!

It's another week in the Lynes household! We're thinking of going to Utah for general conference next weekend, but we're not sure what we'd do with Jack. I guess we'll see!
